Education and Experience:

I grew up in Manahawkin, attended Southern Regional High School and graduated summa cum laude from Jefferson University (formerly known as Philadelphia University) with a B.S. in Fashion Design.  I spent five years designing for a high-end maternity company in Philadelphia when I got the idea that I wanted to "be my own boss."  For over three years, I owned and operated a boutique where I was able to work with one of my passions, bridal gowns.  After closing my shop, I spent several years in management for a major department store.  All of this prepared me for my final calling, a teacher of fashion design and merchandising at OCVTS. 

Hobbies:

When I’m not teaching in the classroom, I enjoy being outside, exploring nature and doing one thing in particular that I love---bird watching.  To date, I have logged over 150 bird species on my "life list". Occasionally I like to capture my adventures on Instagram, although it never seems to do any justice to the breath-taking beauty of nature.  I enjoy spending time in my gardens, watching plants emerge in the spring, blossom in the summer and gently fade through fall.  I also enjoy all things fashion- sewing and drawing in particular.  I am a creative, hands-on type and really enjoy crafts of all kinds. Thanks to Pinterest, I am never at a loss for ideas.  I have recently found a new love for yoga, something that I have always dappled in for years, but have finally taken the plunge and have now made it a daily practice.
